Nintendo Expected To Outgrow Microsoft In Market Share This Year

Analysis firm IHS Markit has released a report on the video game market in 2017.

The report mentioned that over USD10 billion was spent on Xbox products (hardware, software, services) last year, while USD8 billion went to Nintendo. IHS has predicted that spending will grow to USD11 billion for Nintendo in 2018, thanks to growth from Nintendo Switch, while Microsoft’s share will dip to around USD9 billion.

If IHS Markit’s prediction is correct, Nintendo will become the second largest company by market share in the video game industry, directly behind Sony’s USD20 billion PlayStation empire.
