Nintendo Hopes To Produce 10% More Switch Stock In 2020 Compared To 2019

In the midst of the ongoing Switch shortage, Nintendo has announced their intention to ramp up their Switch production in 2020.

Speaking to Nikkei, a representative from Nintendo confirmed that the company is aiming to produce around 10% more Switch units in 2020 compared to 2019. That said, given the current climate, they are still not certain how well they will be able to meet this goal.

“We hope [suppliers] will be responsive to the production increase, but for procurement of some parts, the outlook remains uncertain, and we can’t forecast exactly how many Switches can be supplied.”

Meanwhile on the components side, Hardware components suppliers have said they will do what they can to meet the increased demand. According to some figures, a few parts suppliers have received April-June orders over 50% higher than originally planned.
