We have a piece of disturbing news to share with you about Nintendo and Facebook today.
Reddit user Valerokai has discovered that Nintendo and the official Nintendo UK store have handed over email addresses and potentially other pieces of information about their users to Facebook. This could be found under the “Advertisers and businesses” page on Facebook, which shows the companies that passed over user information to Facebook for advertising purposes:
This seems to be common practice among many companies, but if you are concerned about your privacy this might not be good news for you. Even if you don’t have a Facebook account you aren’t safe as these companies are still uploading information they collected about you from their services to Facebook.
