Nintendo Labo is out in North America now and while some of you might be already on their way to be the next big Toy-Con inventor, some of us are still carefully building our stock Toy-Cons.
However, if you’re still being gentle with the cardboard, you can afford to put a bit more force into it. According to an interview conducted by CNET, Nintendo’s Yoshiyasu Ogasawara said that the Labo’s Toy-cons are resilient to wear and should last a long time under normal use.
CNET: How long will a Labo kit last till it needs to be replaced?
Ogasawara: We designed every Nintendo Labo Toy-Con so that they won’t break easily. We tested their resilience to the same action through hundreds and thousands of repetitions, so we expect them to last a long time under normal use. And even if one should happen to break, they are made of cardboard, so they can be mended or even re-created fairly quickly.
That should give you a little more confidence in those expensive cardboards. So go ahead and tinker around, who knows what breakthroughs you will make.
