Famitsu has published their video game sales data for the Japanese market for the period of April 8 to April 14, 2019.
First, we have our first sales data for the Nintendo Labo VR Kit in Japan. The VR Kit debuted at No. 2 on the bestseller charts, moving 26,634 units at launch. This means the VR Kit sold better than the Vehicle Kit which moved 13,000 units at launch last September. Still, it’s a far cry from the Variety Kit.
Coming in at No. 3 is Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, which sold 14,132 copies at launch. Yoshi’s Crafted World was the No. 5 bestseller in Japan and is 9000 copies away from hitting 100,000 copies.
Famitsu also pointed out that both Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild saw a bump in sales thanks to VR support, however they were not in the top 10 bestseller list.
Lastly, Nintendo Switch hardware sold 54,101 consoles last week in Japan.
