It appears that the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan will be closed to visitors for four days from June 24 to June 27, 2025.
While the museum is typically closed every Tuesday, it has never been closed for four consecutive days. Keep in mind that those four days are business days in Japan, meaning there aren’t any public holidays falling on those dates.
This has sparked speculation in Japan that there is a purpose for the temporary closure. It is currently speculated that the museum will receive a makeover to add a new, permanent exhibit for Nintendo Switch 2, something far larger than the small display featuring a few items.
New souvenirs featuring the Nintendo Switch 2 are also expected to be added to the shop museum after it reopens.
