Nintendo has filed new trademarks for several of its game series in Japan.
The trademarks are filed under the “Food And Accommodation” category, and include Super Smash Bros., Animal Crossing, Pikmin, and Splatoon. This is somewhat unusual for Nintendo, as they typically file trademarks for software or merch relating to their games.
Fans are speculating that this is likely related to food and drink being sold at the Nintendo Museum and Super Nintendo World, and possibly some kind of “Nintendo Hotel” accommodation added to the latter. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
