Nintendo has been ordered to pay damages following a power harassment legal case in Kyoto Japan.

As reported by Mainichi, the Kyoto court ruled that an industrial doctor working under Nintendo was guilty of power harassments against two temp nurses assigned to work under him. The two nurses claimed that the doctor would ignore them at work and only communicate with them via email, which eventually resulted in Nintendo refusing to hire them on full-time as they “failed to establish a smooth cooperative framework with the physician.”. The two nurses sought to have Nintendo reverse their decision to refuse them employment, as well as pay out compensation in damages for their experience.

Ultimately, the court ruled that it was “not unreasonable” for Nintendo to deny the two nurses regular employment. However, the court agreed that the doctor’s actions did constitute power harassment, and ordered Nintendo to pay the two nurses a combined total of 200,000 yen (about $1,300) in damages.
