Nintendo Plans to Raise Wages by 10%

Looks like workers can expect a raise as Nintendo announced on Tuesday that it plans to increase workers’ base pay by 10%.

This announcement comes after Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida called for Japanese companies to pay workers more  as the country began to raise wages nationally after a lack of growth since 1997.

Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa said that the company does not currently plan to raise software or console prices, but would consider doing so if circumstances demanded it.

These raises also come after Furukawa announced that the sales expectations for the Switch console were lowered from 18 million units from 19 million.
