Nintendo, PlayStation, And Xbox Leaders Appearance At The Game Awards Nearly Fell Apart At The Last Minute
Geoff Keighley, the producer of The Game Awards, recently shared some interesting words during his AMA on Reddit.
Last year, Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime, Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Shawn Layden, and Microsoft Xbox chief Phil Spencer shared the stage for a brief moment at The Game Awards. Keighley revealed that it took many months of negotiations to make that happen, and everything nearly fell apart a few days before the show. Thankfully, though, it all came back together.
See his full words below:
“It was a dream of mine for a long time — since the first show. I asked all three of the guys personally and they agreed to do it, but it did take months of negotiations to make it happen. A few days before the show I thought it had fallen apart and I was really sad. But then magically it came back together. Producing these shows is always an emotional rollercoaster, but I’m really proud of that moment, and glad I was able to help make it happen.”
