Nintendo continued to keep its videogame advertising budget on televisions relatively conservative this month, compared to its competitors
According to VentureBeat, Sony emerged as the biggest spender for gaming adverts on TV during September 2020 – with an estimated spend of $18.1 million to promote sports games. The second biggest spender was Square Enix which spent $8.9 million on advertising The Avengers, while Nintendo was the third-biggest spender with a budget of $7.1 million.
Overall, Nintendo emerged as the second most-viewed gaming brand – with 379.6 million TV ad impressions during the month. Meanwhile, Sony was the most-viewed brand with 573.6 million TV ad impressions.
