While Nintendo’s SNES Classic gets wipe of the shelves all around the world, Nintendo is still trying their best to get stock into the hands of their enormous fan base.
Replying to Business Insider, Nintendo of America Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Doug Bowser, commented that there are no conspiracy theories behind the lack of stock. It just takes time for them to react to the demand of the market.
“We try to do the best we can with forecasting and anticipating demand, and to put a plan in place” said Bowser.
“if you see a steep ramp-up in demand, it takes some time to catch up.”
“When you think about procurement of parts, procurement of manufacturing facilities, getting [production] ramped up – that takes some time to respond,” he said.
That being said, Nintendo does also learn from the past, especially after seeing the huge demand for the NES Classic, stock levels for the SNES Classic were raised by a significant amount.
“We’re really focused on trying to get as much SNES to the market as possible,” he (Bowser) said. He added: “You’ll see a much stronger flow of product than you did on NES. Lesson learned from the past!”
To frustrated fans who are still unable to get their hands on the SNES Classic, be patient and hope Nintendo is able to ramp up their production as soon as possible. You can read the full article from Business Insider here.
