Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube Controller Doesn’t Support Button Mapping

It appears that the Nintendo Switch 2 GameCube controller does not support button mapping.

You can configure button mapping for various Nintendo Switch 2 controllers in system settings, but for some reason this doesn’t apply to the GameCube controller offered to Nintendo Switch Online members. However, it’s still possible to button map for individual titles in Nintendo Classics: GameCube.

It’s worth noting that Nintendo of America’s official FAQ page for the GameCube controller mentions that button mapping is supported for the GameCube controller, however this is most likely an error considering what we’re seeing on the device.
