Nintendo and San Fransisco based Scrum Ventures have teamed up to look for startups working on new ways to play or improve Nintendo Switch.
Scrum Ventures has started a program called “Nintendo Switch + Tech” to scout for innovators that could come up with new technologies for Nintendo to leverage on, that could lead to the development of new innovative experiences in hardware and software.
Applications are open to a wide spectrum of applicants, from startup teams of all stages to research teams at universities technology, or even teams from larger corporations worldwide. Chosen applicants will receive the opportunity to demo their tech in front of the engineers behind Nintendo Switch.
You can now apply on the official website from April 12 to June 9, 2018. Selections will take place in early Summer, and a virtual program (aka virtual mentorship, coaching, and preparation) will take place for 2 months for teams that have been picked after the selection process. The program will conclude in early Fall, the day teams pitch their ideas to Nintendo developers.
Results of the Nintendo Switch + Tech program will not be publicly announced, so it may be years before we find out what happens!
