Nintendo Sells 1.12 Million Switch In Japan For First 6 Months, Sees Drop In Pace

The sales result for the Nintendo Switch in Japan is out for the first half of this year. In the first six months of 2018, Nintendo sold 1.12 Million units of Switch. Although that is an increase from the 1.02 Million units Nintendo sold in the same period last year, it is important to note that although the Switch saw an increase in sales, the Switch only sold for three months in the same period the previous year.

Still, it did well in a backdrop where console units sales fell 11% year over year in Japan.

When it comes to Switch Software, the console is doing more than just fine. Not only did it see a 162% increase to ¥25,323 Million, but it also dominated the top ten charts in Japan with seven out of the top ten games being Switch titles.

Hopefully, Nintendo will continue to see continued growth on the Nintendo Switch.
