Nintendo Sold 1.7 Million SNES Classic Edition Systems At Launch

Curious to know how many systems Nintendo has shipped for the SNES Classic Edition?

During today’s financial results release for the period ending September 30, 2017, Nintendo revealed that they shipped to retailers 1.7 million SNES Classic Edition systems.

That’s a huge increase from the 200,000 units the NES Classic Edition sold at launch in the United States alone, and close to 2.3 million NES Classic Edition systems made in the span of 5 months.

The number would be much higher if Nintendo released the Super Famicom Classic Mini in Japan before September ended. We’ll find out how much it sold next year!
