Interesting news – it seems that the platform codes for Nintendo Switch 2 Game Card, Game-Key Card, and Nintendo Switch 2 Edition titles have different platform codes, something that is new to this generation.
Previous Nintendo consoles only had one platform code per console. For example, the platform code for Nintendo Switch is HAC, and the platform code for Nintendo 3DS is CTR.
However, in the case of Nintendo Switch 2, there seems to be not one but three different platform codes. We have already known for some time that the Nintendo Switch 2 platform code is BEE – BEE is used for all hardware and accessories, as well as Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive software.
Now, product listings from Japan confirm that there are also two other product codes in existence. POT is used for Game-Key Card releases, and NXS is used for Nintendo Switch 2 Edition titles.
Here are some product codes based on product listings currently available:
Keep in mind that the ‘J’ product type identifier (as seen with Shadow Labyrinth Nintendo Switch Edition) indicates that the game is a code-in-box release, while ‘P’ indicates that there is a Game Card or Game-Key Card inside.
You can easily check the platform code and product code on the back of the physical release packaging. This should usually be above the barcode, as shown in this example.
