A couple more details have emerged following a leaked unboxing of the Nintendo Switch 2 system by a Russian Telegram group.
According to the person who unboxed the system, there is system music playing in the background when you set up your Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time (timestamped video). For comparison, the Nintendo Switch did not have a background theme for the setup process. Unfortunately, this seems to be the only part of the operating system that has background music at this time, as the leaker has confirmed that the HOME Menu doesn’t have background music.
Next, the leaker also confirmed that the system supports two themes out of the box – Basic Light and Basic Dark. These are the same themes supported on Nintendo Switch.
Finally, we’ve also learned that the firmware of the Nintendo Switch 2 is 19.0.0, which is lower than the 20.1.0 firmware update that just came out on Nintendo Switch. This is probably the reason why so many features are not working on the console until the 20.1.0 update comes out on June 5 on Switch 2.
