Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World Set Estimated To Make Up 70% Of My Nintendo Store Japan’s Allocation

Following a Twitter poll with 15,000 responses, a massive Nintendo Switch 2 pre-order lottery poll with 60,321 responses has revealed more interesting details about the three different types of sets allocated to My Nintendo Store Japan.

According to the poll, out of 60,321 respondents, 69.8% applied for the Japanese-Language Mario Kart World set, 27.3% applied for the Japanese-Language standalone system, and 2.9% went for the Multi-Language system.

When filtering the results down to those who successfully secured a set, that’s 69.4%, 19.9%, and 10.7% for the Japanese-Language Mario Kart World set, Japanese-Language standalone system, and Multi-Language system respectively.

This indicates that the Japanese-Language Mario Kart World set makes up 70% of the Nintendo Switch 2 units allocated to My Nintendo Store, with 20% for the Japanese-Language standalone system and 10% for the Multi-Language system.

The 10% allocation for the Multi-Language System is considered to be higher than what many Japanese fans had expected – consensus on the street was Nintendo would allocate about 2% to 3% of the overall units to the Multi-Language System, in line with the percentage of foreign residents living in Japan.

However, given that My Nintendo Store is the only Japanese retailer offering the Multi-Language System, the 10% allocation seems to be reasonable.

We can probably expect a similar allocation for other Japanese retailers, with the Mario Kart World set taking 70% and the Japanese-Language standalone system taking 30%. This is mostly in line with the allocations we reported for Europe and Asia earlier this month.
