The Nintendo Switch has become one of the most popular video game consoles in Taiwan, so naturally it has started appearing in Taiwanese dramas.
In the 238th episode of “100% Wife”, a woman was kidnapped by an otaku and finds a “video game console” in the room she’s trapped in. She uses it to send a friend request to a man she knows. The man is driving on the road, hears a beep, and accepts the friend request.
Here’s where things start to get interesting – after the man accepted her request, they started talking to each other on the Switch, a feature which does not exist. In reality, voice chat is only usable via Nintendo Switch Online, a smartphone application. Some joked that the drama is “predicting the future” of the Switch.
