As you may be aware, Nintendo Switch controllers such as Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller are compatible with Nintendo Switch 2.
Besides being compatible with Nintendo Switch games, they can also be used to play Nintendo Switch 2 games, Nintendo of Europe has confirmed. However, certain functionality, such as mouse controls, cannot be taken advantage of by the original Joy-Con. You will still need Joy-Con 2 if you want to play with mouse controls.
There are also a few other things to keep in mind. Since the C button is absent on the Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller, you cannot directly access GameChat by pressing a button. Instead, you will have to go to the HOME Menu to access it.
In addition, perhaps the most important restriction is that both the Joy-Con and Nintendo Switch Pro Controller cannot wake the Nintendo Switch 2 out of sleep mode – only the Joy-Con 2 and Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller can do that.
