Media Create has released the last week’s sales figures from the Japanese video game market, which has painted a beautiful for Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo Switch was the top selling video game hardware in Japan last week, taking 50% of market share at 45,083 units sold. Trailing behind by a large margin was PS4 (20,070), which had lost its advantage from Monster Hunter World’s launch. The Nintendo 3DS family of systems moved around 10,000 units.
While Monster Hunter World is still reining the video game software charts (38,617 copies), many first party and third party Nintendo Switch games continued to sell strongly. Dragon Quest Builders, which launched on Switch last week, moved 28,430 units (2nd place), while other evergreen titles like Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild follow closely behind.
