Wall Street Journal sources familiar with Nintendo’s plans have said the company won’t be making a smaller or more powerful Nintendo Switch hardware revision anytime soon.
The reason behind this is because Nintendo wants to focus on manufacturing and shipping the current Nintendo Switch hardware to more customers this year. Insiders also said Nintendo Switch hardware sales are estimated to hit 17 million units by March 31, surpassing Kimishima’s goal of 16.7 million units.
To boost sales of Nintendo Switch, people familiar with the matter told WSJ that features in the coming year could also include “additional network-related features and peripherals to be attached to its USB Type-C port.”
