After many long months, the Nintendo Switch’s sales streak on the Media Create charts has come to an end in Japan.
Between January 8 to January 14, 2018, retailers in Japan sold 37,500 Nintendo Switch consoles, while the PS4 (along with PS4 Pro) moved a combined total of 43,808 units, finally overtaking the Nintendo Switch for the first time in several months.
Despite the slowdown, Nintendo Switch software continues to sell, albeit at a slower rate due to the recent shortage of games. Splatoon 2 (#2), Super Mario Odyssey (#3), and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (#4) sold 34,632, 28,193, and 22,836 copies respectively, while Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (#5) for Nintendo 3DS shifted 21,494 copies.
