Since late January 2020, Japan has been hit by a very bad Nintendo Switch shortage due to the coronavirus outbreak affecting production and logistics in China.
Though the shortage didn’t affect the Turquoise, Yellow, and Gray Nintendo Switch Lite systems, the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons has finally affected all three colors. Reports indicate as of March 30, 2020, the Turquoise, Yellow, and Gray Nintendo Switch Lite systems have completely ran out on Amazon Japan, Rakuten Books, Bic Camera, Yodobashi Camera, and 7net.
However, the shortages have not affected My Nintendo Store yet, but it wouldn’t be surprising to see it hit the store in the coming days as stock continues to deplete across Japan.
