The Nintendo Switch Online app for smart devices has been rebranded to the Nintendo Switch App on May 28, 2025, along with a brand new look and design.
Following the rebranding, Nintendo Switch owners without a Nintendo Switch Online subscription can enjoy some features on the app, such as the ability to send screenshots and videos from a Nintendo Switch 2 or Nintendo Switch to the app, and sending friend requests through it.
In addition, you can now receive GameChat invites from friends who have a Nintendo Switch 2.
Zelda Notes for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Nintendo Switch 2 Edition and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Nintendo Switch 2 Edition has also been released in this update, but it requires a copy of either game to use.
