Nintendo Switch Sales Triple In Japan Thanks To Updated Model

A couple of moments ago, Famitsu published the latest sales data for the Japanese market for the last week of August 2019.

One thing that is worth pointing out is a surge in Nintendo Switch hardware sales in the last week of August 2019. In the week before the last week, Nintendo Switch hardware sales were 30,072 units, whereas in the last week, it was 90,553 units.

This could be attributed to the launch of the longer battery life model Nintendo Switch, which is currently sold out at most retailers in Japan. Thanks to the release of the new model, sales tripled in just one week.
