Nintendo Switch Scammers Who Made USD5000 Arrested In Taiwan

Taoyuan police have arrested a man surnamed Shen in Taoyuan, Taiwan for scamming customers.

According to a report, Shen and his group of accomplices had put up listings of Nintendo Switch consoles and other popular games on various Facebook groups. As the Nintendo Switch is suffering from shortages, 12 customers purchased them from Shen, believing that he was a credible seller.

However, Shen had no intention of selling the products. After 12 customers transferred their money to Shen’s bank account, they became suspicious as he did not deliver the goods as promised. 4 customers lodged police reports and the police froze his bank account. Shen scammed a total of NTD147,000 (USD4,958).

Taoyuan police have advised customers to read reviews before purchasing from new sellers and to purchase from brick-and-mortar locations.
