The launch of Super Mario Odyssey has brought the number of Nintendo Switch hardware units sold to over 2 million in Japan.
According to Famitsu, Nintendo sold 133,094 units of Nintendo Switch hardware on the week of Super Mario Odyssey in Japan, most of which comprises of the Nintendo Switch Super Mario Odyssey Set.
The week before the launch of Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo shipped 24,000 Nintendo Switch units, so the number of systems shipped has increased by 5 times.
Last week was also the highest number of stock that Nintendo sent to retailers in a week in the last 4 months. When Splatoon 2 launched in July, Nintendo shipped slightly over 100,000 units.
