Nintendo Warns Users Not To Do This To Avoid Damaging Their Game-Key Card

A special warning has been printed on the back of Nintendo Switch 2 Game-Key Card physical releases in Japan.

The warning tells users not to stick a strong magnet onto the Game-Key Card in order to avoid damaging it, as it could render the Game-Key Card unusable. Here is the message in full:

The Game-Key Card could become unusable if you stick a strong magnet onto it. Please be careful.

Interestingly, the same warning isn’t present on the back of Mario Kart World’s packaging (see below). Mario Kart World is one of the few Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games on a Game Card. This implies that both Game Cards and Game-Key Cards aren’t using the same type of storage technology. We’ll have to wait for a teardown of both to truly understand what’s going on.

What do you think? Let us know in the comments.
