Nintendo has published the financial results for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019.
According to the company, 2.55 million systems of Nintendo 3DS hardware were sold in the fiscal year, a 60.2% decrease from the previous fiscal year ending March 31, 2018. 13.22 million copies of software were sold in the fiscal year, again a 62.9% decrease from the previous year. Currently, the lifetime sales of Nintendo 3DS hardware stand at 75.08 million, with software at 378.12 million copies.
Looking forward to the next fiscal year, Nintendo plans to continue supporting the Nintendo 3DS by leveraging on its huge library of titles:
“For Nintendo 3DS, we will continue to leverage the platform’s rich software library to appeal to consumers purchasing game hardware for the first time, while continuing to drive sales of evergreen titles that leverage its hardware install base.”
