Recently, we reported on allegations of past abuse hurled at voice actor Chris Niosi – who plays Male Byleth in both Fire Emblem Heroes and Fire Emblem: Three Houses. Following the removal of his voice from Fire Emblem Heroes, it looks like Niosi might be completely ousted from working with Nintendo altogether.
Nintendo has confirmed that it is also removing Niosi’s voice from the newly-released Fire Emblem: Three Houses for Nintendo Switch. The following statement came in response to inquiries by GoNintendo and Game Informer about Byleth’s voice actor:
“After assessing the situation, we decided to re-record the character’s voiceovers in Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Heroes with another actor. The new voiceovers will be included in a future patch.”
As things stand, it looks like Nintendo is scrambling to distance themselves from Niosi. We’ll report back if this story develops any further in the future.
