Nintendo Zone Shutting Down In Europe On March 28

Following the announcement of the end of the StreetPass Relay service in Japan, Nintendo of Europe has announced it will be stopping the Nintendo Zone service in Europe with effect from March 28, 2018.

While the company didn’t provide a reason behind the termination of the service, it thanked users for their support.

Nintendo Zones are public hotspots that allowed users to connect their Nintendo 3DS to the Internet and receive exclusive content. It also acts similarly to StreetPass Relay, allowing users to receive up to 6 StreetPass data from other Nintendo 3DS owners who passed by the Nintendo Zone.
