Nintendo’s Winners At The Game Awards 2019 Include Luigi’s Mansion 3, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, and Fire Emblem: Three Houses

At The Game Awards this year, the biggest awards show in gaming, Nintendo’s own games took home a healthy helping of accolades. Read more, and see the full list of winners, below the break.

Nintendo games dominated the Best Family Game category this year, with nominees including Ring Fit Adventure, Super Mario Maker 2, and Yoshi’s Crafted World. But the winning game in the category was Luigi’s Mansion 3.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a landmark brawler that truly lives up to its name, was granted the award for Best Fighting Game.

And finally, Fire Emblem: Three Houses took home the title of Best Strategy Game, as well as the Player’s Voice award!

While other games featured on the Switch won awards, including Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled (Best Sports/Racing Game), Gris (Games for Impact), and Fortnite (Best Ongoing Game), the biggest award of the night, Game of the Year, went to Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice by From Software.

  • Best VR/AR Game: Beat Saber
  • Best Action Game: Devil May Cry 5
  • Best Action/Adventure Game: Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
  • Best Role Playing Game: Disco Elysium
  • Best Fighting Game: Super Smash Bros Ultimate
  • Best Family Game: Luigi’s Mansion 3
  • Best Strategy Game: Fire Emblem: Three Houses
  • Best Sports/Racing Game: Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled
