Nissin’s Upcoming Cup Noodles Looks Too Similar To Splatoon

We’re just 2 days left to Nintendo’s upcoming FPS, Splatoon 2. And Nissin has pulled out a surprise….

Nissin, a Japanese company well known for its cup noodles, has announced a brand new product – “Big Cup Noodle Black Seafood – Black Squid Ink Seafood”. Besides the reference to Squids, observant Splatoon fans will notice the packaging’s resemblance to the orange and blue ink in Splatoon…

Was it done on purpose? We’re not sure.. but the “squid” and packaging are strong telltale signs.

As for the cup noodles itself, Nissin has added black Squid Ink into the seafood soup to give it an Umami flavor. Here’s how it looks like:

Black Squid Ink Seafood Cup Noodles would be a “limited edition product” though, so while stocks last. It launches on October 31, 2017 in Japan.
