Later this week, Nintendo will be launching a paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons called Happy Home Paradise, which adds a brand new resort management mode along with a number of other features.
In a statement issued to IGN, Nintendo confirmed that Happy Home Paradise would be the New Horizons’ “first and only” paid DLC, much like how Version 2.0 will also be its final major update. Following this, Nintendo said that they would only be supporting the game “with small changes”.
You can find a similar statement attributed to a Nintendo spokesperson below, via Eurogamer:
Animal Crossing: New Horizons – Happy Home Paradise introduces a new gameplay experience in which the player joins the Paradise Planning team and helps make their client’s dream resort home become a reality, it is a major update to Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and offers a distinguishing and different gameplay experience. Therefore, it made sense to include it as the first and only paid DLC for Animal Crossing: New Horizons.”
Although it would have been nice to receive more consistent support, Happy Home Paradise and the free Version 2.0 update have both been generally well received by fans for the amount of new and returning features they will bring to the game. We will be sure to report back with more details when they launch later this week on November 5th.
