NPD Group’s Mat Piscatella has shared some interesting tidbits about the LEGO Videogame franchise for its 25th Anniversary.

According to NPD Group’s videogame sales data, the LEGO videogame series is the best selling third-party franchise on Nintendo platforms. This feat is perhaps unsurprising given how many LEGO games have been released over the years, along with their consistent popularity across the board. It should be noted however, that this information may only apply to the US, where NPD Group is based.

Aside from this Nintendo specific tidbit, Piscatella also revealed the following fun facts about LEGO Games in the US:

• LEGO is the 9th biggest VG franchise in history ($ sales)
• The top 3 best-selling games: LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga, LEGO Batman and LEGO Star Wars II
