The Pokemon Company has announced they are dropping Pokemon Unite from its World Championships lineup.

This news was announced as part of a broader list of changes coming with the Pokemon World Championships 2027 Season. The MOBA spin-off will still run its own separate tournaments, but they will no longer be affiliated main World Championships event.

Pokémon UNITE Championship Series

The Pokémon UNITE Championship Series will no longer be a part of the Championship Series in the 2027 season.

There will be a standalone in-person Pokémon UNITE event planned to take place in Japan, with paid travel for qualified teams. Additional details, including qualification and travel support information, will be announced at a later date on the Pokémon UNITE official site.

Pokemon Unite has been featured at every Pokemon Championships season following its release at the tail end of 2021, and no explicit reason was given for its removal in 2027. We will be sure to report back with more info as it comes.
