NPD: Switch Was The Top Selling Videogame Hardware In The US For 2022, Fifth Year In A Row
Following the video game sales data report, NPD Group has shared more details about video game hardware sales in the US, revealing how well the Switch itself did in 2022.
According to NPD’s data, the Switch was once again the top selling piece of videogame hardware for 2022, which is its fifth straight year in a row. In all the years that NPD has been keeping track of videogame sales data, no other console has managed to achieve such a feat.

Aside from this, NPD Group’s Matt Piscatella also shared the following tidbits about overall videogame spending for the region, as well as a chart of the top selling games on Switch specifically:
2022 spending totaled $56.6B, 5% below 2021 levels despite growth in hardware and subscription content spend.
