Nvidia Boast Excellent Quarter Thanks to Nintendo Switch

The world’s largest stand alone graphics chip maker, Nvidia, has just announced a terrific quarter that has blown past Wall Street estimates.

Raking in $2.2 billion in revenues this past quarter, Nvidia saw a marked increase from $1.4 billion a year ago.

“Data center revenue increased more than two and a half times. A growing number of car and robot-taxi companies are choosing our Drive PX self-driving computing platform. And in gaming, increasingly the world’s most popular form of entertainment, we power the fastest growing platforms – GeForce and Nintendo Switch.” ~ Jen-Hsun Huang, founder and CEO of Nvidia, in a statement.

Though Nvidia’s contribution to the Nintendo Switch have brought it much fortune, the Nintendo Switch stands greater as a huge showcase of what Nvidia’s own chips are capable of.
