The official Octopath Traveler Twitter account has apologized to fans and customers for an ongoing shortage of Octopath Traveler in Japan.
According to the tweet, Octopath Traveler has sold out in a number of stores in Japan, and Square Enix apologizes for that. It appears that a restock should be on the way next Tuesday, as Japan will celebrate Marine Day next Monday. Download cards for Octopath Traveler are still readily available at convenience stores such as Lawson and 7-Eleven.
The ongoing shortage is a sign of Octopath Traveler’s popularity among gamers in Japan, which launched yesterday for Nintendo Switch. We’ll find out how well it has done when Media Create releases their figures next week.
Before we end, here are some photos from the official Square Enix store, filled with lots of Octopath Traveler merchandise!
