One and a half months after the launch of Octopath Traveler, fan translators and hackers living in China have worked together to release a Simplified Chinese translation for the game. The only way to play with the translation is by using homebrew.
Octopath Traveler was never localized in Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese. Many fans have been clamoring for an official localization as the English in Octopath Traveler is difficult to understand.
It was so bad to the point Octopath Traveler was compared to China’s official English exam.
