Back in 2019, Nintendo Japan began selling a set of official Famicom controllers for Switch, exclusively for Switch Online subscribers in the country.
According to their official site for the recently announced Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition, Nintendo Japan be making these controllers available to the general public starting from July 18th 2024. Presumably, this means that they will be sold at retail or online, and will not require buyers to have an active Switch Online subscription.
