One Strike Removed From eShop Due To Copyright Infringement

It seems like the developers and publisher of One Strike are in a little bit of hot water.

As it turns out, the Switch title copied music wholesale from the Famicom game Mouryou Senki MADARA. Due to this copyright infringement, One Strike’s publisher has removed the game from Japan’s eShop (with other regions to follow suit).

Just how blatant was the plagiarism? Listen to it for yourself:

Responding to the situation, QubicGames had this to say:

“The developer of the game paid a composer for the music. Both the developer and we, the publisher, were convinced that this track is an original work…[we are] preparing and releasing a new version of the game with another track as soon as possible.”

This whole situation feels grimy and sad. Let’s hope the developers can be more careful next time.
