Nintendo Switch Firmware Update 6.0.0 Hits September 18, Will Remove Option To Unlink Nintendo Accounts From User Profiles

Some small but important changes will be coming to your Nintendo Switch soon.

According to Nintendo’s website:

”After installing the system update planned for September 18th, 2018 (Tuesday) at 5pm Pacific Time, it will no longer be possible to unlink your Nintendo Account from your Nintendo Switch user.”

Nintendo has not officially stated the reason behind this change. However, we speculate that this is likely to prevent users from exploiting one Nintendo Switch Online subscription across multiple profiles. Additionally, Nintendo could just be tightening the noose around hackers’ actions (as usual).

In light of this news, do remember to check if your user profiles are linked to the correct Nintendo Accounts.
