Today we have two big pieces of news to share with you about the official Animal Crossing: New Horizons guidebooks that launched in Japan last month.
Oricon, a tracker of bestselling books in Japan, has revealed the sales figures for the two official guidebooks that launched in April 2020 in Japan. KADOKAWA’s guidebook debuted first place, selling 152,836 units. Nintendo Dream’s guidebook came in at second place, moving a respectable 79,182 copies. The total tally across the two books is over 232,000 copies.
Next, we have an interesting news coming from Yahoo Japan. The Kinokuniya book store at Shinjuku, which was closed for 3 weeks due to the state of emergency measures, reopened again to a line of over 100 people who wanted to buy guidebooks for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The guidebooks have become very hard to get online, thus people are going to stores to try their luck.
