Overwatch 2 Still Planned For Switch, Will Have “Some Compromises”

When it was first revealed back in 2019, Blizzard Entertainment listed the Switch as one of the many launch platforms for Overwatch 2, along with PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.

As the company revealed more details about the kind of upgrades fans could expect for the sequel, some began to wonder if the game would still be coming to Switch, and whether it would be able to handle the changes. In a recent AMA hosted on the Overwatch subreddit, the game’s technical director John Lafleur confirmed that Overwatch 2 was still very much headed for Switch, although “some compromises” would have to be made:

Although Lafleur did not go into too much detail about what these compromises may be, it seems that ensuring the game runs smoothly will be the main priority over the graphical updates. We will be sure to report back with more details as they come.
