Palworld Developer Still Interested In Bringing The Game To Switch 2

Earlier this year, Pocketpair launched the 1.0 version of Palworld, their massive hit open-world monster collecting game that got them embroiled in a lawsuit with Nintendo over alleged patent violations.

Despite the ongoing legal battle, Pocketpair has seemingly remained open to one day bringing Palworld to the Nintendo Switch 2. In a recent interview with VGC, Pocketpair CEO praised the Switch 2 as a “really amazing platform”, and they are are keen to discuss bringing Palworld to Switch in some fashion if the opportunity arises.

Last year, you said Nintendo Switch 2 was worth considering for Palworld and that it seemed like a great fit for the game. Is that something you’ve been considering as a real possibility?

Of course. First of all, I should say that we think the Switch 2 is a really amazing platform, not just for games globally, but especially here in Japan and for the Japanese games industry. It’s been an incredible platform. If there’s ever a future where we have the opportunity to discuss or consider bringing Palworld to the Switch platform in some way, then we’d love to have those conversations.

That said, it is likely that any discussion with Nintendo about porting the game to Switch 2 can only commence after the lawsuit has been resolved. Last we heard, Nintendo had scaled by its suit to only target older versions of Palworld before the Version 1.0., and the Tokyo District Court is set to convene on November 9th, 2026 to share its preliminary view. Stay tuned for more updates as they come.
