PayPal Is Now Accepted On The Switch eShop

Have a Paypal account? You can now make payments on the Nintendo eShop through Paypal on every regional Nintendo eShop.

This is the first time Paypal is available as a payment option on the Nintendo eShop. Previous systems such as Nintendo 3DS and Wii U only accepted credit/debit cards and Nintendo’s prepaid codes.

There’s a catch, however – Paypal accounts are “region locked”. For instance, if you have a Paypal account registered in the United States, you won’t be able to use it to purchase games on the Japanese eShop. Keep that in mind!
