The dreaded permadeath that many beginners dislike in the Fire Emblem series is making its way into crossover game Fire Emblem Warriors.
In an interview with Kotaku, Fire Emblem Warriors developer Hayashi confirmed that Permadeath is included in the game, but “in a way that makes sense for a Warriors game”. To cater to both casual and hardcore fans of the franchise, there will be a hardcore mode where players can potentially lose characters, and a casual mode where beginners won’t have to worry about losing their characters. A class system is also included in Fire Emblem Warriors. Changing classes will change the character’s appearance accordingly.
Finally, splitscreen multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch version of the game has been confirmed in an Nintendo Life interview. Splitscreen co-op works similar to how Hyrule Warriors implemented it, and only one Joy-Con per player is required. However, fans looking to play online will be disappointed to hear that there are no plans for an online co-op mode.
